IGU
Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) is a structure consisting of two or three glass panes spaced apart with a spacer bar and hermetically sealed, and forming one or two insulated chambers filled with inert gas or dried air.Modern Glass produces IGUs under the MG Units brand.
Modern Glass IGU assembly technology and high-quality parts:
aluminum or composite spacer bar, butyl sealant and molecular sieve with mesh aperture of 3 angstroms or less ensure a life cycle of at least 20 years for IGUs.
Modern Glass IGUs are produced with argon filling. Having a lower heat capacity and heat conductivity than air, argon reduces convection movements inside the IGU, so the window becomes warmer, with no condensate or ice formed in the lower edge area of the IGU. Argon is 100% safe, non-flammable and non-toxic. Modern Glass can both fill IGUs up in an argon environment and run IGU argon content tests using a GasGlass device without harming the product’s air tightness.
Modern Glass IGUs
General construction IGUs are those with transparent glasses that had no additional heat treatment. Popular for glazing windows and balconies in residential buildings due to their advantages over single-pane glazing
Antinoise IGUs are efficient in reducing noise impact, which is important in extra noisy environments such as busy streets, highways, airport hotels and railway stations
Shock-proof IGUs are designed to protect human life, guarantee safe storage and transportation of material assets. They rule out injuries caused by an unexpected shock or fall on the glass. Protection classes:
A1–A3
Fireproof IGUs with Pyropane fire-resistant glass. It is an AGC’s brand of transparent glass treated in a special way and having the following fire resistance classes: E15, E30, E60
Electrically heated IGUs consist of triplex glass which incorporates glass with a special current conductive coating that performs the function of a heating element
IGUs with anti-electromagnetic radiation function are shielding devices. Protection is carried out by reflection of electromagnetic radiation
Sun control IGUs allow to minimize the intensity of UV radiation level. During warmer months, the room does not overheat, which reduces the cost of air conditioning
Energy-saving IGUs can reduce heat loss through the window. In the cold season they make it possible to save on building heating
Multi-function IGUs combine sun control and energy-saving properties. In addition, if sun control and energy-saving glazing is tempered or makes part of laminated glazing, this IGU acquires additional shock-proofing and noise-reducing properties
